Data Analyst - Economics (12 months FTC) at The Economist Gurugram
The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) is undergoing a digital transformation, moving from legacy Excel-based systems to a scalable, cloud-based architecture on AWS. As a Data Analyst in the Quantitative Economics team, you will support this migration by auditing, analyzing, and transitioning the data pipelines and macroeconomic models. You will use your knowledge of macroeconomics, statistical analysis, and data manipulation tools to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the new systems.Your responsibilities will include:Auditing and understanding the existing Excel-based systems to extract and transform raw macroeconomic data.Supporting the migration of data pipelines from Excel to AWS, ensuring data quality and system efficiency.Transitioning economic models from Excel/Eviews to Python/R.Performing validation checks on migrated data and forecasts to ensure accuracy and consistency.Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering and technology, to troubleshoot and integrate new systems.You will play a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless transition while documenting the changes and auditing processes for future transparency.
